This batch of party photos prove that the Fabulous Wingtips did indeed show up and attempt to entertain the crowd. And, oh yes, there was cake.

The pile of toys was just beginning to build. By the end of the party the table was overflowing with toys for Toys for Tots. I want everyone who brought a toy and the Marines who came to the party and stayed throughout the afternoon even though the air conditioning stopped working.

The train leaves this Sunday. Please remember to bring your donation of a new, in-the- box toy (preferably toys, you cheap hippies) to the event. We want to send the Marines home with a bundle.

This may be the earliest photographic record of the Tips. It was taken in Jon Goward’s basement in Natick. Fitts with hair! As usual, Jon looks like he is trying to get the tape recorder working. The bearded Tip on the right is Dennis. Wicked good guitarist. Thanks to Jim Casey for the photo.

Jim Casey shot these photos of Wingtip fingertips in action at the last rehearsal.

The Fabulous Wingtips sit around after their last rehearsal and try to remember exactly where they have played over the years.

Remember, if you are coming to the party that it is a Toys for Tots fundraiser. The Marines will be on hand to collect your donations. Please bring new, in-the-box toys. As many as you can. The kids need them much more than you or I do.
The two photos on the right are the front and back of a Wingtips t-shirt from some time in the 80′s or early 90′s. The center photo is the front of the t-shirt and the photo on the right is the back. It lists the world-class venues the band played at that time. They are Marshfield-by the Sea, Don Bosco High School, The Malloy Road Race, The Museum of Science Parking Lot Roof, Jason’s, Spit, Foxboro JayCees, NEBA Break-up Party, Sullivan Stadium Club House, The 57, RISD in the Barn, East Providence VFW Post 599, and the HBM/Creamer Summer Outing.

The Fabulous Wingtips rehearse for the upcoming reunion concert. Older, heavier, and a bit slower on the uptake it wasn’t all that bad.

‘Wingtips’ – from about 1980 – the HMB Halloween party I think. Harry has on the same WT’s tee he had on at Bobby’s memorial. And to his right, yourself (Jim Fitts).
